Environmental communication is the study of:
• Emergent processes of social change, aiming at sustainable development
• Social interaction of different character as e.g. conflict, learning, negotiation, power, concerning natural resource management
• Collective action in the context of environmental issues, investigated at individual, group and/or policy levels.
We are interested in the human/nature interface. Since the interaction between people has an impact on the handling of these issues, we like to study this issue.
We do research and arrange courses in the following areas: extension; sustainable development; dialogue, conflict management and collaborative learning in nature resource management.
Education is primarily adopted for ground level and prepares our students for work as process and project managers, planners, administrators and communicators in the field of planning, nature resource and conservation management in business world and administration.
We also make research oriented assignments as facilitators and evaluators. We work in Swedish, European and other international settings. The research and education is generally practice and problem oriented.
