SCD Sustainable Community Development

Example of Sustainable Community DevelopmentSustainable Community Development concerns the prevention of significant changes in the world climate and ecosystems. Our main area of expertise concerns how regions, cities, towns, countryside districts and neighbourhoods can be planned, built and rebuilt to be sustainable in a long-term perspective. Research and education performed by the co-workers of this theme, takes its starting point from the United Nation’s Habitat agenda and is described in its framework text Timeless City. Supplementary is also this homepage where firstly the collection of best practices is continuously changed and updated. The best practices with both small changes and radical visions are taken from Sweden, the Nordic countries, the Baltic Sea Region, Europe and the World. The best practices will comprise regions, cities, rural areas, ecotechnology (including energy technology) and eco-construction. At the News headline, e.g. current courses, new research projects, network information and new publications are presented.
